Raíces Culturales Latinoamericanas (Raíces) and International House bring the color and flavor of the Feria de Sevilla to Philadelphia on Saturday, April 24, 2004 from 6 PM to 11 PM. This April Feria is one of the most typical and traditional national festivities in Spain.
The patios and lobby of International House (3701 Chestnut Street)
will be adorned in an authentic Spanish style; in the casetas, people will dance
the traditional "Sevillanas" and "Rumbas". Presentations by four flamenco groups
from Philadelphia:
Fiesta Flamenco Dancers, Pasión y Arte, Flamenco del Encuentro y Flamenco Olé.
Characteristic Spanish products cannot be missing in this event so the Spanish Restaurant Mallorca will provide jamón, paella, sangría and manzanilla, just as it happens in Spain. A Flamenco fashion show will take place in the Feria corridors.
Also everyone who would like to be initiated to the beautiful world of Flamenco will have the opportunity to attend the free guided dancing that will take place in one of the "casetas" during the Feria. Another attraction is the raffle of a week in a beautiful Villa for two persons in Sevilla, Spain.
The Feria de Sevilla ticket price is $15, and $8 for seniors and students with ID. Available at 215-895-6544 or tickets@ihphilly.org
